Michele Utley Voigt is an internationally exhibited artist, a survivor of gun violence, & serves as the Survivor Membership Lead for Moms Demand Action CT. " I paint to render the human relationship with eternity, to demonstrate that the human reality as we experience it is bound to the continuum of time. My works are the complex language of layering multiple levels of imagery representational of our complicated existence. Through my process, I expose the beauty that outlives barbarity, the splendor that transcends tragedy.” This work, aPOPcalypse honors Nasjay Murry who was murdered by a gun Chicago on April 7th of 2018 and is it part of my Domestic Situation Series.
