Since my diagnosis and cure, I know firsthand that cancer is a disease of despair, and since recovering, I was given a second chance at life, and my creative life of photography and playwriting has opened up as never before. I am a two-time winner of the BRIO award from the Bronx Council on the Arts for my plays Suddenly, Lasagna! and Officials of the Stardust Mission, and have created BardLover cards using my photos and incorporating Shakespeare’s words into each. In spite of the unprecedented tragedy unfolding in our midst, I have learned there must always be hope. My creativity is a deep well of hope for me, and when I share it, I give hope to others!
